I haven’t remarked on the amazing powers of the iTunes shuffle facility for over two years but this one is a zinger. From Eminem’s angry attack on the Iraq War, “Mosh” (from the 2004 CD Encore) straight to Hendrix’s “Star Spangled Banner”. There are 17,000 songs in that playlist so a seque like that kind of freaks me out. It’s as if there’s a little man in there, programming it all, it really is.
Just a quick note to say, yes, I know I’m a week behind with the reviews (there’s a Capital Times review from Wednesday of- Christ I can’t even remember what they are now -Irina Palm, Rise of the Footsoldier, Max Payne, something else) but I’ve just sent my last but one assignment for the Massey PGDipBA away via fax and I’ve got one more assignment due this week and then an exam, so- y’know, I’m busy and tired and doing 1.75 jobs at Downstage at the same time. Yeah, poor me.
Tonight marks the first night off I have had in quite a while. No Downstage, no study, no films to watch. I got home fully intending to switch on the tv and watch the cricket from Bangladesh, only to discover that my Sky has been cut off – it’s that long since I switched it on. I only keep Sky for the irregular West Ham games (only two so far this season) and the cricket and have to wonder if it’s worth it.
Well, obviously it isn’t worth it and yet, I’ll be in to Sky tomorrow morning to pay the bill.
So tonight I will be updating the blog with last week’s film reviews, updating the Academy web site for the new week’s sessions, and updating the Voice Arts Trust web site with their first podcast.
Not much of a night off then, after all.
I’ve added a new link to the blogroll at right: Dominion Post film reviewer Graeme Tuckett’s new side (table) project, Bickipedia. For all things biscuit‑y. World baked goods domination awaits.
