Sorry, couldn’t resist. Olivier Gourmet, above, is apparently not impressed. But I am, particularly by Arta Dobroshi, also pictured, in the lead role of the Dardennes’ Le Silence de Lorna. A consideration of the film, and of the ethics of the consumption of the disc of it currently available, comprise today’s Foreign Region DVD Report, at The Auteurs’ (where you should also stick around for some kick-ass Cannes coverage), as ever.

Are there any special features on the disc? There was a Belgian crew shooting video at the Cannes press day, ostensibly for a DVD featurette, and I’m curious to see whether that makes it onto any of the subtitled editions …
I just read the brief coverage of “Antichrist”. It sounds…promising? Worth a look, in any case, and thank God I have a region-free player, as it’s sounding as though that’s the only way I’ll be able to see the Cannes cut of the film.
