Musical interlude

One of my favorite songwriters, and, I have to admit (the spirit of the full disclosure print journalist intrudes) one of my favorite people, ever, at his most off-handedly ingenious (check out the irregular internal rhymes). Watching Pete play this at the old Knitting Factory once or twice or thrice…well, if you missed it, I’m sorry. But this is a good taste.

Go with it, Glenn! Do your Dagmar Krause! If your neighbors aren’t too skittish…
Nice embed. Nice way to end the day.

Very nice song.… Why have I never heard of this guy before?

Blegvad’s pretty cool. He also had a really brilliant metaphysical/surrealist comic strip that ran in the UK during the 90s:

@Ed: One of the most treasured works in the admitedly small Kenny are collection is a signed print of the “Inner darkness…is no match for inner light” Leviathan strip.
@R. Hunt: “Why have I never heard of this guy before?” Oh, the ways to answer that question! It wasn’t for lack of trying on my own part. My first published piece in the VIllage Voice was a review of Blegvad’s first solo album, “The Naked Shakespeare.” Most of his best stuff is still in print, I believe: I most highly recommend “King Strut and other stories,” “Downtime,” “Hangman’s Hill,” and “Just Woke Up.” Only the unfortunately overproduced “Knights Like This” should be approached with caution. And then there’s the Slapp Happy stuff…
