Adventures in youthful passivity

And Yellow Submarine  means so much to me. It came out in 1968, when I was in my last year of high school, and if someone had given me the information on how to dedicate my life to making animated films like that, I would have gone there (and lived a completely different life).”

Sometimes I wonder if Ann Althouse is actually trying to be funny.

BTW, I saw Yellow Submarine in 1968 to, when I was in…what, fourth or fifth grade? The friend I saw it with enrolled, many years later, at the School of Visual Arts, with a kind of double major in animation and sequential drawing. But as no one had, prior to that, given him information on how to dedicate his life to etc.,etc., he actually had to bang a railroad spike into his skull several times before he was able to make the determination to apply there.
