Boom SCR

Looking at this screen cap the other day, I thought, “This might make a good illustration of where Sasha Grey gets her eyebrow stylings from.” And then, searching for an apposite still of S.G. so as to demonstrate this theory, found that a representative screen cap in the non-NSFW department was not easily accessed, and, more disturbing, that La Grey’s brows at their most thoroughly crafted were not nearly as fake as those seen above. Yeesh.

Which means, among other things, that Liz still owns, in her way…and that, for better or worse, so does the 1968 film Boom!, the subject of today’s Foreign Region DVD Report, at The Auteurs’, as ever.

I think you need a zoning permit from your skull to work on eyebrows like that.

  • Stephanie says:

The eyebrows are a form of boasting. Only someone with extraordinary eyes could get away with them and not look like Joan Crawford.
Strange and a little sad that Taylor’s looks coarsened so young. She’s only in her mid thirties here and yet as early as Cleopatra she was looking positively matronly. The weight and health problems didn’t help, of course. She made some of her worst movies for MGM in the early fifties and yet they’re worth watching because her beauty was unearthly at that time.

I always liked the way Sasha Grey’s eyebrows looked.
