Effort, last minute and/or last ditch

 So. I know I prom­ised a con­tri­bu­tion to the won­der­ful Film Preservation Blogathon hos­ted by The Self-Styled Siren and Ferdy on FIlm. I kind of like to think that everything I post on this blog is some­how related to film pre­ser­va­tion, but I wanted to do some­thing par­tic­u­larly spe­cial. Except I did­n’t know what. Then I had an idea, one that would not just involve me suck­ing a thumb while input­ting with anoth­er, but would entail actu­al work, like con­duct­ing an inter­view and tak­ing notes and tran­scrib­ing and such. So I sched­uled said inter­view, and even though it was pretty close to the dead­line (the bloga­thon con­cludes today) I thought I could handle it. But. My sub­ject was indis­posed at the appoin­ted time yes­ter­day, and once he was fin­ished with being indis­posed I became indis­posed, and the inter­view just could­n’t hap­pen. It may hap­pen in the near future, for a post that would not be part of this bloga­thon, but that would be fine, as I think everything I post on this blog is some­how related to…and now I’ve come full circle. How meta of me.

Which leaves me with a prom­ise to post and noth­ing to post about. So I do what I usu­ally do in such situ­ations, and punt. No, wait, I don’t punt. I write haikus.
