That’s funny you chose this for your Foreign DVD Report. I just got a shipment of some hard to find DVDs in the mail, one of which was “Thundercrack.” The others were “Wake in Fright,” “Funeral Parade of Roses” and “Themroc.” Haven’t watched any of them yet. I’ve got some strange viewing ahead of me, by all accounts.

Nathan: Did you happen upon Damon Packard’s fire sale? (http://tinyurl.com/26ehpxa)

  • Nathan Duke says:

No, but that’s quite the collection. I found the films I listed above at Revengeismydestiny.com. They have a pretty solid selection as well – I was able to track down Louis Malle’s “Black Moon” and a few others there.

  • Jeff McMahon says:

Did you have trouble getting your shipment from that website? I ordered a batch a while ago and it took two months and multiple angry emails to get what I had paid for.

  • LexG says:

You probably filled out the mailing address wrong.
By putting “McMahon” instead of “McDouche.”

  • Glenn Kenny says:

HEY! Just because I’m busy—seeing “The Expendables” when not looking for work, among other things—doesn’t mean I’m nodding. So let me remind you, Lex, that I’m the only person here who gets to use the word “douche.”
    Down, fella.

  • Nathan Duke says:

Jeff: Both times I’ve used that site, it took a little while. It’s supposed to take four to six weeks, but it ends up being more on the six to seven weeks side. But the quality was good on all the DVDs. Glenn, how was “The Expendables”? Does Jeff Speakman make a cameo? One can only hope.

  • Jeff McMahon says:

Yes, the quality was fine, the customer service is a tad lacking though.

  • Stephen Bowie says:

At the risk of also being tagged a douche, I would point out that FUNERAL PARADE OF ROSES is on DVD in the UK and WAKE IN FRIGHT (on Blu-ray, no less) in Australia. From legitimate DVD labels. Of the kind Glenn writes about weekly. That will eventually stop putting out more DVDs if people buy bootlegs instead.
