The aftermath of one of those nights as seen in Pia Marais’ strong 2006 feature debut Die Unerzogenen (released, after a fashion, in English-speaking territories as The Unpolished), an underseen film brought to our attention anew by the fine curators at the British label Second Run. Its DVD release (over last summer; the intended contemporaneous review was one of the casualties of my Plasma Display Problem of 2010) prompts thoughts on “boutique” labels and trust of such, and more; in today’s Foreign Region DVD Report at The Daily Notebook.
