Afternoon in Akureyri. 

The Northern Lights without a tripod.

Sprettur-Inn, a pizza and DVD rent­al empori­um in Akureyri. Also a pet sup­plies shop, as you learn when you go inside. Friendly staff. Unusual pizza.

Reykjavik.

The National Theater in Reykjavik. If you look this up on Google image search you’ll see pretty much EVERYBODY shoots it from this angle. I am a failure. 

A view from the win­dow of room 404 of the Reykjavik Natura Hotel. Well before Iceland’s eco­nom­ic col­lapse, busi­ness con­cerns there intu­ited that tour­ism could be a ter­rif­ic source of rev­en­ue for the coun­try; hence, the con­cern that would even­tu­ally be known as Icelandicair also built hotels its own self, AND in this case put a small domest­ic air­port in the back of the build­ing. Very con­veni­ent, although this was not the ven­ue from which we left for our jaunt to Akureyri.
