All I needed was for ONE person to ask…
Afternoon in Akureyri.
The Northern Lights without a tripod.
Orkan gas station, Akureyri. Part of my “Counterfeit Wim Wenders Stills” series.
Sprettur-Inn, a pizza and DVD rental emporium in Akureyri. Also a pet supplies shop, as you learn when you go inside. Friendly staff. Unusual pizza.
Sulphur.
Mountain of lava. This and the two shots above were captured in the Myvatn region.
Reykjavik.
The National Theater in Reykjavik. If you look this up on Google image search you’ll see pretty much EVERYBODY shoots it from this angle. I am a failure.
A view from the window of room 404 of the Reykjavik Natura Hotel. Well before Iceland’s economic collapse, business concerns there intuited that tourism could be a terrific source of revenue for the country; hence, the concern that would eventually be known as Icelandicair also built hotels its own self, AND in this case put a small domestic airport in the back of the building. Very convenient, although this was not the venue from which we left for our jaunt to Akureyri.
Great stuff Glenn, thanks. Good Wim Wenders gag too. Despite being Scottish i’ve never made the short hop over to Iceland. Someday.
And the line of colored buildings can go in the “Counterfeit Vera Chytilova stills” file, which is a very good thing indeed.

Hmmm…pet supplies and “unusual pizza” under one roof. Pass. 🙂
