You gotta hand it to the French—even when they’re being crassly commercial they’ve got taste. Colombiana, an image from which is above, not only knows from Danger: Diabolik, obviously, but it’s even got a John Martyn song on the soundtrack. Classy. I enjoyed it, as my review for MSN Movies also attests; and I didn’t much mind Our Idiot Brother, which I also review.

Been looking forward to COLOMBIANA a lot, because I’m a total sucker for these latter-day Besson-produced actioners (BANLIEUE 13, TRANSPORTER, UNLEASHED, TAKEN, etc.). They’re fun, if rather brutal.

Glenn, your review glossed over one of the film’s more interesting points: the FBI are the good guys and the CIA are the bad guys–a distinction one doesn’t often see.
