There is also a terrific Blu-ray of An American in Paris available in Europe.
Glenn, the Alan Jay Lerner LOLITA musical you discuss in your PARIS review did indeed sorta happen, though it wasn’t in collaboration with Loewe. While LOLITA, MY LOVE, with book and lyrics by Lerner and music by John Barry, closed during its pre-Broadway tour in 1971, it is now held in at least a little regard — a few of the show’s songs were even recorded after the musical folded.
Damn, I gotta be more careful about my American Musical Theater history.
