Around the time I was putting up the first part of My Life In Pornography at Thought Catalog, I heard about the work of photographer Barbara Nitke, who was shooting stills on New-York-based adult film sets just a few years after I was production assistant on A Girl's Best Friend. Obviously I needed to look into this. I did, and I got Barbara's book, American Ecstasy, and I interviewed Barbara for Nerve. The not-safe-for-work article it here.
