Is Ito a big fan of Bava?
It would be interesting to know if Bava was seen and appreciated in Japan, or if his work corresponds to an independent Japanese tradition. There are certainly numerous points of comparison.
MASK OF SATAN = ONIBABA
BLACK SABBATH = KWAIDAN
PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES = GOKE BODYSNATCHER FROM HELL
BLOOD AND BLACK LACE = EVERYTHING
RABID DOGS = MIIKE TAKASHI’S WHOLE CAREER
