Once again, as is her custom, The Bride sends you best wishes for the holiday season. This has been quite an interesting year, and the past three weeks or so have been terrifically intense, bringing events of wondrous household joy, including Claire's highly delightful BAM debut with Mikel Rouse's Gravity Radio, concomitant visits from a posse of relatives (including the in-laws; it was my father-in-law's presence at a screening of Little Fockers that destroyed my opportunity to fudge my reaction to the film, and thus properly join the herd of independent minds…), and lastly, a holiday brunch of some ambition. I'm a lot happier than I was at this time last year (photographic evidence below the fold), but I'm also exhausted. So…
…I'm going to knock off the blogging a little early this season and try to get a little rest, although if the spirit moves me a little further I may chime in with an observation or two. And I'll alert you when my MSN Movies reviews of Blue Valentine and Another Year go up. In the meantime, I wish you all a great holiday however you celebrate it, and all the best for the new year. Was Lovely Wife the newsreader? She was fantastic! It was a beautiful show all around, and I was in awe of her ability to play what must have been fairly unrehearsed text with juuuust the right dose of feeling.
My mouth isn’t watering at the sight of all those doughnuts, but at all those Eclipse sets.
@ TFB: Indeed, that was she, and thanks from us both for the kudos. She not only read the news items, she compiled and collated them from the AP wire every day. We were a little disappointed with the review of “Radio” in the Times, which largely ignored the film/performance aspects of the piece, and said of Claire’s participation, “A woman read news reports.” For a brief, laugh-away-the-pain period, Claire was referred to that way around the house, as in, “Say, a woman, would you like more coffee?” etc.
Congratulations to Claire! And yeah, those Eclipse sets…you know how many I have? FOUR!
