Rush

Daniel Brühl contemplates his immediate future in the excellent Rush. I can relate. I review that movie, and the less excellent but highly interesting Prisoners, for MSN Movies this week.

Oh, Loki is low-key, as in laid-back.
I thought it was a reference to Holly Loki and the Chordettes.
    God, I’m stupid.

Some real expert lip-pursing right there.

Wait, so the twist is that the cop turns out to be the supervillain from The Avengers? Weird…

I thought Rush was quite good as well. The racing scenes however aren’t quite as good as the scenes in Frankenheimer’s Grand Prix. But it seems pretty obvious that Frankenheimer was more interested in the kick-ass nature of fast Formula One cars and racing action than plot, while Howard is more interested in telling a human story we can all relate to than fast driving. I’d recommend both to any race car fan but for different reasons.
