  Love that you pos­ted the pic from The Lineup, pos­sibly my favor­ite Wallach per­form­ance. “He pushed me too far!” feels like an icon­ic Wallach moment in a career full of them. Great tal­ent, will be much missed.

  It’s almost as if you could include stills from ALL of his films in this series. How ’bout the gleam in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, or in The Ghost Writer…

  I know this was­n’t his last role, but for me, it was an inspired bit of cast­ing and a trib­ute, of sorts. The fact of Mr Wallach’s pro­fes­sion­al longev­ity presents a per­fect par­al­lel to what his char­ac­ter poten­tially rep­res­ents in the con­text of that film and is used, I think, to imbue the char­ac­ter with undefined import.
