Love that you posted the pic from The Lineup, possibly my favorite Wallach performance. “He pushed me too far!” feels like an iconic Wallach moment in a career full of them. Great talent, will be much missed.

I know this wasn’t his last role, but for me, it was an inspired bit of casting and a tribute, of sorts. The fact of Mr Wallach’s professional longevity presents a perfect parallel to what his character potentially represents in the context of that film and is used, I think, to imbue the character with undefined import.
